The interference of tribals is visible in Indian cricket. It is a moment of pride for the tribals. For the first time a tribal girl was included in the Indian women’s cricket team. The name of that tribal girl is Minnu Mani. Minnu Mani is a resident of Mannathavadi in Wayanad district of Kerala.
Minnu Mani will tour to Bangladesh on behalf of the Indian T20 team. The captain of this T20 is Harmanpreet Kaur. The team has to play T20Is and three ODIs on the Bangladesh tour, which will start from July 9 in Mirpur. Minnu has joined the team as an all-rounder. Left handed batsman and off break bowling with right hand.
In early 2023, Minnu became the first tribal girl and the first cricketer from Kerala to be selected in the inaugural Women’s Premier League auction. Minnu was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 30 lakh.

Struggle of Minnu Mani
Minnu was born on 24 March 1999. Her family belongs to the Kurichiya tribe in Choyimula, Wayanad and her father Mani CK is a daily wage laborer while her mother Vasantha is a homemaker.
He started playing cricket at the age of ten with boys in the paddy fields near his home. When she joined the Government High School, Idapaddi in class VIII, she started taking sports more seriously.
Minnu made it to the Kerala state women’s team at the age of 16 and has not looked back since then. She has been the fulcrum of the Kerala team in the last decade and was the top run-scorer in the Women’s All India One Day Tournament last season with 246 runs in eight matches and also took 12 wickets.
Minnu has also been a part of the India ‘A’ and India ‘B’ teams in the Challenger Trophy. However, he did not get enough chances in the initial WPL as he played only three matches for Delhi Capitals and managed to bat only once.
